Big news coming later today re: basketball

sounds like they are going to revolutionize the AAU circuit and make coaches, officials and events become certified before being able to participate

this will greatly effect recruiting in college basketball and get rid of the coaches who want money in return for directing their kids to certain programs

could be more with regards to an age limit for the NBA, but that has yet to be confirmed...i think it'll be announced before the Championship game tonight

Jim Calhoun might as well retire if this comes to pass.

Certified how? When we have the National Championships in Kingsport each year, we use officials who are High School certified. The girls play by college rules. Most of the National officials that they bring in are college officials and a lot of the locals either work small college or have worked it.

I don't think he meant "officials" in terms of referees--I think he meant event organizers and AAU heads.
